Caitlin grew up in a tiny Connecticut town. She is the daughter of writer and Olympic athlete Jamie McEwan and artist Sandra Boynton. She has three younger siblings: Keith, Devin, and Darcy.

Caitlin received a B.A. with distinction in English from Yale, where she also studied theater and was involved in the O’Neill at Yale project.

In New York City, Caitlin studied at the
William Esper Studio, and graduated from their two-year Meisner program. She also directed a play entitled Trinity at the Abingdon Theater Stage II. It was written by her brother Keith Boynton, whom the New York Times has called “a strong talent with a blossoming mastery of his craft.” (Big sisters can’t help bragging.) The production starred Keith, Roya Shanks, and James Arden.

Caitlin has spent many fun/frustrating/rewarding hours in regional theater productions, as you can see in
this photo gallery. Favorite shows include Crazy For You
, My Fair Lady, Ragtime, Side Show, Anything GoesJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Actor's Nightmare.

Her mother’s foray into children’s music gave Caitlin the opportunity to perform on the Grammy-nominated CD
Philadelphia Chickens, singing the wistful ballad “Faraway Cookies.” She has also performed music by Boynton & Ford at the New York Book Fair, the Central Park Zoo, and the Kennedy Center (click to view performances), frequently joined by fabulous feathered friends Keturah Moriah and Hadassah Luther as tap dancing chickens.

Last fall, Caitlin returned to the East Coast after a year in Los Angeles, where she earned her SAG card, starred in a few short films, and put in many hours as an extra/stand-in. Recently, the Amazing Theater Company in Framingham, MA gave her the chance to play one of her dream roles: Laura in
The Glass Menagerie.
